MOSO ® Bamboo Outdoor comes in two colours: the dark brown Bamboo X-treme and brown caramel Bamboo N-durance. For MOSO ® Bamboo X-treme , MOSO ® uses a unique Thermo-Density process of heat-treatment at 200°C followed by High Density compression. With MOSO ® Bamboo N-durance , MOSO ® uses a unique Outdoor-Density process that combines special crushing, steam-pressure treatment and compression with a special finish. Built for the outdoors, grown in four years

Where a tropical hardwood needs decades to reach harvest size, a bamboo culm is ready in four to five years and regrows from the same root system without replanting. That growth rate is what lets MOSO® offer a material with the hardness and stability of tropical hardwood while storing more carbon than it emits across its life cycle.

Every outdoor product in this category goes through the Thermo-Density® process: the bamboo strips are heated to over 200 °C, which removes the natural sugars and compresses the fibres. What comes out is dimensionally stable, resistant to fungi and rated durability class 1.

How long does bamboo decking last outdoors?
MOSO® Bamboo X-treme carries a 25-year warranty for outdoor use and has durability class 1 according to EN 350, the same class as teak.

Does the colour change over time?
Like every natural material, untreated bamboo weathers to a silver-grey patina. Applying a pigmented oil once a year keeps the original warm brown tone.

Is bamboo suitable for a wet or coastal climate?
Yes. The Thermo-Density® process removes the sugars from the bamboo, which makes the boards resistant to fungi and micro-organisms even in a harsh maritime climate.

Can I install it myself?
Decking boards with a standard groove clip onto a substructure without visible screws. The installation guide for each product is available in the downloads section.
