SWITI is a new residential area in Amsterdam Southeast, designed by HOH Architects. In the final construction phase, 24 single-family homes and an apartment complex with 45 apartments were completed, built almost entirely with bio-based materials such as wood and bamboo. Thanks to the construction method, the entire project was completed in just four months, while remaining within the affordable housing category. In recognition of its outstanding combination of sustainability, aesthetics and innovation, SWITI was awarded the National Timber Construction Award 2024.

The facades of SWITI are clad with MOSO ® Bamboo X-treme cladding, a high-density bamboo material developed for outdoor applications. Bamboo X-treme combines its natural elegance with exceptional durability, dimensional stability and hardness. The material is fire-resistant, low-maintenance and covered by a 25-year warranty, making it particularly suitable for sustainable and long-lasting façade applications.
